[FFXIV Guide] Unlocking the new content (Patch 2.3)
With so many changes in 2.3 it can easily happen that you miss out a couple of quests. Here is a small help for you, telling you what's new and where to unlock it (sorted by locations).Choose a location:
- Mor Dhona
- Western Thanalan
- Ul'dah
- Gridania
- Central Shroud
- Other (FC Headquarters)
Mor Dhona
Quest name: "The Great Divine" (with a lot of follow-ups)
Main Story
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.2
- Visit NPC Minfilia in The Rising Stones (Mor Dhona, X:6, Y:5)
Reward: The Main Scenario is needed to unlock Ramuh.
Quest name: "Of Errant Epistles" (Delivery Moogle Quests)
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.0
- Speak to NPC Klynthota in Mor Dhona (X:30, Y:13)
Reward: Unlocks a bunch of Moogle delivery quests!
Quest name: "Simply To Dye For"
- You must be level 50 with at least one class
- Dyeing must have been unlocked
- Visit NPC Alys in Mor Dhona (X:21, Y:8)
Reward: You can now dye Artifact Armor gear!
Quest name: "Magiteknichal Difficulties"
- You must have completed the storyline of 2.0 and you must own a Magitec Armor Mount
- Visit NPC Slafborn in Mor Dhona (X:21, Y:7)
Reward: Ending this small quest will grant you the ability to shoot missiles with your Magitec Mount!
Quest name: "Syrcus Tower"
- You must have completed the Crystal Tower storyline from 2.1
- Visit NPC Rammbroes in Mor Dhona (X:30, Y:12)
Reward: Unlocks the Syrcus Tower (also called "Crystal Tower 2")
Quest name: "King of the Hull"
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.0
- Visit NPC Bloezoeng in Mor Dhona (X:22, Y:0)
Reward: Unlocks the new dungeon Hullbreaker Isle!
Quest name: "Blood for Stone"
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.0
- Visit NPC Faillicie in Mor Dhona (X:21, Y:8)
Reward: Unlocks Stone Vigil (Hard).
Quest name: "Blood for Stone"
- You must have killed Ultima Hard Mode
- You must have completed The Second Binding Coil of Bahamut ("Turn 9")
- Visit NPC Alys in Mor Dhona (X:21, Y:8)
Reward: Unlocks Stone Vigil (Hard).
Western Thanalan
Quest name: "The Business of Betrothal" (Hildibrand storyline)
- You must have completed the Hildibrand storyline from 2.2
- Speak to NPC Ellie in Western Thanalan (X:13,Y:14)
Reward: Needed to unlock a Parley mini game later on!
Quest name: "A Case of Indecency"
- You must have completed the Hildibrand storyline from 2.3
- Speak to NPC Ellie in Western Thanalan (X:13,Y:14)
Reward: Unlocks the Parley mini game.
Quest name: "The Greatest Story Never Told"
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.0
- Speak to NPC Valiant Hart in Western Thanalan (X:18, Y:17)
Reward: Unlocks Winebaud's Riddles.
Ul'dah
Quest name: "Gone To Pieces"
- You must have completed the main story quest for level 19
- You must have at least one Disciple of the Hand class level 30
- Speak to NPC Syntgoht in Ul'dah - Steps of Thal (X:4, Y:10)
Reward: Unlocks Winebaud's Riddles.
Quest name: "Corpse Groom"
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.0
- Speak to NPC Paiyo Reiyo in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:12, Y:8)
Reward: Unlocks Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard).
Gridania
Quest name: "Judgement Bolts and Lightning"
- You must have completed the storyline from 2.3
- You must have killed Leviathan Extreme and King Moggle Mog XI Extreme
- Speak to NPCScarlet in New Gridania (X:9, Y:11)
Reward: Unlocks Ramuh Extreme.
Central Shroud
Quest name: "Bird In Hand"
- You must have unlocked your own Grand Company Chocobo
- You must be part of a Free Company which owns an estate
- Visit NPC Luquelot in Central Shroud (X:20, Y:21)
Reward: Unlocks Chocobo raising!
Other (FC Headquarters)
Quest name: "Let The Hunt Begin"
- You must at least achieve the rank of Second Lieutenant in your Grand Company
- The NPC varies depending in which Grand Company you are. Simply visit the GC headquarters.
Reward: You can now do Hunts and obtain Allied Seals.
Quest name: "Like Civilized Men And Women"
- You must have unlocked the 4 VS 4 Arena PVP
- The NPC varies depending in which Grand Company you are. Simply visit the GC headquarters.
Reward: You can now join Frontline PVP (72 people)!
